In this issue

The slabs for personal income tax for the year 2008-09 have been revised with the exemption limit being raised from Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh, ensuring a minimum relief of Rs 4,000 for every assessee. Tax relief means more disposable income which further feeds into the 'wave of consumerism' which has hit India in recent times. Consumerism' has lead to most of young India living on future earnings and therefore the significance of personal financial planning has gone beyond the traditional bank fixed deposits. This issue of heading out focuses on just that. If you would like to share your experiences, views, suggestions or even comments then drop us at editor@emmayhr.com

We look forward to chatting up with you over a cup of coffee at our new office... more
